A collaboration with Fairly Square, London’s first fair trade coffee shop and bar. The event hosts a panel discussion on why some photographers choose to blur the lines between documentary and fine art photography and asking if the distinction between the two still needs to be made.
The talk features Eleanor Cunningham, a fine artist working with photography that records specific sites or homes that were important in her own life. The work of Monica Alcazar-Duarte, a former charity campaigner and documentary photographer will also be discussed.
The discussion will be led by Lewis Bush, a graduate from London College of Communication whose blog is becoming a reference point for themes and developments in documentary photography.
The event is the first of a new series of talks, discussion and workshops hosted by MiAL and Fairly Square and is being held in conjunction with the Artist Showcase of Eleanor and Monica’s work that has taken place over the summer.
